Approximately fifty vehicles have been covered with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's town of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm police.
Vehicles, building surfaces and mailboxes were marked, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they announced in a official communication.
Police state they were contacted during the night on Wednesday night, when a individual discovered that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored substance.
The fluid had been applied in the pattern of a swastika, they added.
Law enforcement then located numerous other vandalized cars and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under regulations banning the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement say initial examinations indicate the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no lead as to its origin; authorities are not yet cognizant of any physical harm in association with the event," they added.
Local authorities said they were working "to solve the mystery" and have requested to the public for tips.
An important official said the attack left him speechless and needed to be resolved quickly.
"This act hits the core of Hanau and reopens the pain of the right-wing violent incident in 2020," he posted on a platform, mentioning the murder of nine victims by a assailant focusing on individuals of immigrant origin in February 2020.
